Programme
Artistic Intelligence is a structured AI literacy programme for the music and creative industries. Thirty-three short films. Four connected areas. A way of seeing technology through music.
Short video lessons33+
Each lesson is a spoken-to-camera film - not a lecture, not a slide deck. A single idea, explored clearly, in the voice of Dr. Martin Clancy.Checkpoint Questions100+
Three questions after every lesson across three tiers: Understanding, Application, and Judgement. All must be passed to progress. No skipping ahead.

Systems, Tools, Governance, and Judgement. Each section builds on the last. By the end, you do not just know more — you see differently.
Inside the programme
A structured literacy module designed to build cumulative understanding - not isolated facts
-
Seven lessons mapping the music industry as a connected system of creation, distribution, rights, and revenue. You will understand how the system works before examining what AI is doing to it. Covers why music is the leading indicator for AI disruption, how livelihoods are structured, where money flows, and what changes when AI operates at scale.
-
Twelve lessons tracing the arc from the recording studio to AI generators. Every major music tool — the synthesiser, the sampler, the DAW, the platform, the algorithm — changed what could be made and who could make it. This section examines the pattern and asks what is genuinely new about AI.
-
Nine lessons on the governance landscape. Copyright and AI. The EU AI Act. Training data and consent. Transparency and labelling. Collective action. Industry standards and trustmarks. Global versus local regulation. Power and who holds it. This section maps the decision-making structures that will determine the outcome.
-
Seven lessons that move from knowledge to position. Competing interests. The value of human music. Real-world decision scenarios. What endures when the tools keep changing. This section does not tell you what to think. It gives you the framework to think clearly.
-
After each film, three questions return — one per tier. Understanding: did the core idea land? Application: can you use it in a real situation? Judgement: what would you actually decide? All three must be answered correctly to unlock the next lesson. Feedback is shown on every incorrect answer. Unlimited retakes.
-
Complete all thirty-three lessons and receive an AI:OK certificate of completion. Recognised by industry partners and institutions. For organisations licensing the programme, learner progress and completion data is available through the admin dashboard.
