AI:OK Academy Terms

Last updated 1 November 2026.

These terms are a contract between you and AI-OK Limited, a company registered in Ireland with company number 826949, whose registered office is at 40 Pembroke Cottages, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 ("AI:OK", "we", "us"). Contact: legal@ai-ok.org.

They cover your use of the aiok.academy website and of Sound Judgement, AI:OK's AI literacy programme (the "Programme"). Please read them before you create an account or buy access. If you do not agree, do not use the website or buy access.

If you hold a current AI:OK certification, your access to the Programme comes with your certification under the ai-ok.org Terms. These terms also apply to your use of the Programme.

1. Who may use the Programme

You must be at least 18. If you buy for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

You can buy access as an individual, or an organisation can buy it for named learners (an "Organisation Plan"). Where these terms differ for consumers, the consumer wording applies to individuals who buy for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.

During early access, entry is by invitation only. You need an account and an invitation code to buy access.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the Programme. Keep your login details private. Do not share your account. Each learner needs their own account, including learners on an Organisation Plan.

Tell us straight away at info@aiok.academy if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account until you tell us.

An organisation that buys an Organisation Plan (5 seats) names its learners and may reassign an unused place. Once a learner has started the Programme, the place cannot be moved to someone else.

3. What you get

Sound Judgement is 36 lessons across four areas: Systems, Tools, Governance and Judgement. It has 108 checkpoint questions and a final assessment. Lessons are self-paced and open in sequence.

The Programme is a one-time purchase. For certified members, access lasts while your certification is current.

We may update, reorder or replace lessons, questions and materials to keep the Programme accurate. We will not reduce the Programme in a way that takes away its main content while you have access to the Programme.

4. Quizzes, the final assessment and certificates

Please answer the questions yourself, without help from AI tools or other people.

We record your answers, scores and progress so that we can show your progress, mark the assessment and issue certificates.

Complete all 36 lessons and the required assessments to receive a certificate of completion. The certificate records that you completed the Programme on the stated date. It is not a professional qualification, accreditation or licence. It is not an AI:OK certification of you or your organisation.

The Programme can be one of the measures an organisation takes to support AI literacy under Article 4 of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744). Completion alone does not establish compliance with that or any other law. The Programme is not legal advice.

We may withhold or withdraw a certificate if we have good reason to believe the assessment was not completed by the named learner, or was completed in breach of these terms. We will tell you why and let you respond first.

Each certificate may carry a unique credential ID so that others can check it. We will not publish your name in a public list unless you agree.

5. Payment

Prices are shown at checkout and include VAT where it applies. Payment is taken by Stripe when you buy. We do not see or store your full card details.

Organisation Plans may be invoiced instead.

6. Your right to cancel (consumers in the EU and UK)

If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days from the day of purchase to cancel a contract for digital content without giving a reason.

The Programme is digital content supplied online. At checkout we ask you to agree that access starts immediately. If you agree, you lose your right to cancel once access starts, and we confirm this in your order email.

Checkout wording (required, unticked checkbox):

☐ I want access to Sound Judgement to start now. I understand that I will lose my 14-day right to cancel once access begins.

Order confirmation email wording:

You asked for access to start straight away and confirmed that you will lose your 14-day right to cancel once access begins. Your access began on the date shown on your order.

If you do not tick the box, access starts after the 14-day period ends.

To cancel within the 14 days where the right still applies, email info@aiok.academy with your name, order number and a clear statement that you are cancelling. We will refund you within 14 days using the payment method you used.

7. Refunds

Apart from your right to cancel, we give a full refund if:

  • you cannot reach the Programme because of a fault on our side that we do not fix within a reasonable time after you tell us; or

  • we withdraw the Programme while you still have access to it.

We may also refund in other cases at our discretion. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if digital content is faulty.

Organisation Plans: places that have been used are not refundable.

Refund requests: info@aiok.academy.

8. Licence and use of materials

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view the Programme for your own learning while you have access to the Programme.

You must not:

  • download, copy, record, share or republish lessons, questions, answers or materials;

  • share answers or the assessment with others;

  • use the materials to train, fine-tune or test any AI system; or

  • resell access or use it to run training for others without our written permission.

The Programme, its films, text, questions and the AI:OK name and logo belong to AI-OK Limited or its licensors.

9. Suspending or ending access

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, for example by sharing your account or the assessment. We will tell you why. Where the breach can be fixed, we will give you a chance to fix it first.

You may stop using the Programme at any time. Section 6 and section 7 explain when you get a refund.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the Programme available. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control. The Programme runs on third-party platforms, including Squarespace.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that:

  • For businesses: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or reputation. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the access concerned.

  • For consumers: we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. We supply the Programme for personal learning. We are not liable to you for business losses.

12. Privacy

Our use of personal data is described in the AI:OK Academy Privacy Policy at aiok.academy/privacy-policy.

13. Disputes and governing law

If you have a dispute with us, write to legal@ai-ok.org first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it with you.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.

  • For businesses: the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.

  • For consumers: you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

14. Changes and general terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the law requires an earlier change. Changes do not reduce access you have already paid for.

The following general terms apply:

  • If a provision is unenforceable, the rest continues in force.

  • A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.

  • You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them to a successor to our business, and we will tell you if we do.

  • The English text governs.
